Avalon & Secret Hitler

Hello to those that have played Blood on the Clocktower this is a similar game where the evil team must lie their way and trick the good team. However in Avalon we go and quests and it's up to us to figure out who is evil. While Secret Hitler involves placing policies from a random pile of 3 cards and determining if a good card was discarded. It's beginner friendly and up to 10 players!

"The Isle of Cats is a competitive, medium-weight, card-drafting, polyomino cat-placement board game for 1-4 players. In the game, you are citizens of Squalls End on a rescue mission to The Isle of Cats and must rescue as many cats as possible before the evil Lord Vesh arrives. Each cat is represented by a unique tile and belongs to a family, you must find a way to make them all fit on your boat while keeping families together."
This looks super cute, we're rescuing cats and fitting them onto our ship like a puzzle.

Inis is a beautifully designed wargame hybrid deeply rooted in Celtic history and lore. Seasons come and go as players lead their tribes in an ongoing struggle to be king of the island.
But don't be fooled. Despite the apparent dudes-on-a-map nature, Inis is about much more than sending squads of miniature tribesman into battle.
Like card drafting? Take-that moments? Modular boards? Politely (or not) agreeing on the nature of warfare? Inis has it all!
Medium complexity - open to beginners.

Spirit Island

"Spirit Island is a complex and thematic cooperative game about defending your island home from colonizing Invaders. Players are different spirits of the land, each with its own unique elemental powers. Every turn, players simultaneously choose which of their power cards to play, paying energy to do so. Using combinations of power cards that match a spirit's elemental affinities can grant free bonus effects. Faster powers take effect immediately, before the Invaders spread and ravage, but other magics are slower, requiring forethought and planning to use effectively."
It's a fairly complex cooperative game and a favorite of many players. Some experience with lighter cooperative games would be recommended, but not required if you're up for a challenge.

Lords of Waterdeep

"Waterdeep, the City of Splendors – the most resplendent jewel in the Forgotten Realms, and a den of political intrigue and shady back-alley dealings. In this game, the players are powerful lords vying for control of this great city.
In Lords of Waterdeep, you take on the role of one of the masked Lords of Waterdeep, secret rulers of the city. Through your agents, you recruit adventurers to go on quests on your behalf, earning rewards and increasing your influence over the city."
It's a classic worker placement game, done really well in terms of theming and execution. I'm including the expansion, Scoundrels of Skullport, because it doesn't add too much complexity, but adds some interesting interactions to the game. The game is very beginner friendly, so if you've ever wanted to give it a try, or have ever wanted to try a worker placement game, this is the time to try. The game should only take about an hour, but doubling time for teaching.

Flamecraft

"In Flamecraft, 1-5 players take on the role of Flamekeepers, gathering items, placing dragons and casting enchantments to enhance the shops of the town. Dragons are specialized (bread, meat, iron, crystal, plant and potion) and the Flamekeepers know which shops are the best home for each. Visit a shop to gain items and a favor from one of the dragons there. Gathered items can be used to enchant a shop, gaining reputation and the favors of all the dragons in the shop. If you are fortunate enough to attract fancy dragons then you will have opportunities to secure even more reputation."
A lightweight cozy game full of puns with its primary mechanic being set collection!

Connect the Bay

Join us for Transit Month Game Night! We will be playing Connect the Bay - developed by a local designer where players compete to help bay area residents travel seamless around the region. This is a network and route building game, where players use dice to decide where to place homes, jobs and activities to score based on how well connected everything is.
